Animals in Warfare

OxVeg media rep Paul Freestone is giving an illustrated talk on the subject of Animals in Warfare on Wednesday 2nd April (7.30pm) at the Faringdon Peace Group, Friends’ Meeting House, 4 Lechlade Road, Faringdon SN7 8AQ.  Paul writes: “This will be a critical analysis of the subject, highlighting these animals as innocent victims, and cutting through the sentimentality and hypocrisy of movies like Warhorse (2012).  Special attention will be given to World War One as this year marks the centenary of the beginning of that conflict, but there will also be a brief history of all animals used in warfare right up to the present day. The talk is open to everyone and entrance is free, but contributions towards the cost of hiring the venue would be appreciated.”
